MEPIELAN CENTRE is an accredited UNEP/MAP PARTNER (since 2013)
The 18th Ordinary Meeting of the Contracting Parties to the Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment and the Coastal Region of the Mediterranean and its Protocols (Istanbul (Turkey), 3-6 December 2013), decided to accredit MEPIELAN Centre as new UNEP/MAP Partner and include it in the Revised List MAP Partners containing 31 NGOs (Decision IG.21/21, Annex III, UNEP(DEP)/MD IG.21/9, p. 231). It participates in all Meetings and Conferences of the MAP and the Barcelona Convention system and closely cooperates with the UNEP/MAP Secretariat.

The 19th Meeting of the Contracting Parties (Athens, Greece, 9-12 February 2016) decided to elect MEPIELAN Centre as a Member of the Mediterranean Commission on Sustainable Development (MCSD), composed of 40 members (22 Contracting Parties including the EU, and 18 Non-Contracting Parties on an equal footing) where it represents the Scientific Community Group (Decision IG.22/17, 19th MOP 2016)

MEPIELAN CENTRE has been elected as a Member of the Steering Committee of the MCSD (2019 – 2021)
The 18th Meeting of the Meeting of the Mediterranean Commission on Sustainable Development (MCSD) (Budva, Montenegro, 11-13 June 2019), has elected MEPIELAN Centre as a Member of the 6-member Steering Committee της MCSD and its Director, Professor Evangelos Raftopoulos, as a Rapporteur of the Steering Committee in accordance with Rule 17 of the Rules of Procedure

MEPIELAN Centre has become a partner in the Global Pandemic Network (GPN) in June 2020
MEPIELAN Centre has become a partner in the Global Pandemic Network (GPN) in June 2020 and its logo is uploaded in the GPN main webpage. More than 30 academic partners participate in the GPN which sets up a community of scholars from Universities, Institutes and academic networks around the world. Its aim is promote debates, research and webinars in relation to the legal, economic and social aspects associated with pandemics and linked not only to the emergency but also to the precautionary and recovery phases, through an integrated and interdisciplinary approach, starting with the COVID-19
MEPIELAN Centre is a Founding Member of the Ecological Law and Governance Association (ELGA) (2017)
MEPIELAN Centre, through its Director, participated in the Launching Conference of ELGA, held in the University of Siena, Italy, 12-13 October 2017, which adopted the ELGA Strategy Plan 2018-2020 and the Siena Declaration of Solidarity 2017.
