Maguelonne Déjeant-Pons has been a lawyer and lecturer at the University of Law (Montpellier) and at the Institute of Political Sciences (Strasbourg). Since 1987 she has worked as a Senior Official at the Council of Europe in the following positions:

    • 1987-1992 – Administrator at the European Court of Human Rights
    • 1992-2000 – Principal Administrator at the Directorate for the Environment and Local Authorities Responsible for the Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats
    • 2000-2002 – Head of the Environment and Sustainable Development Division
      Responsible for activities: Pan-European Biological and Landscape Diversity Strategy; European Diploma for Protected Areas; Editor of Naturopa Magazine
    • 2002-2012 – Head of the Spatial Planning and Landscape Division
      Executive Secretary of the European Conference of Ministers responsible for Regional Planning; Executive Secretary of the European Landscape Convention; Editor of Futuropa Magazine
    • 2012-2018 – Head of the Landscape and European Heritage Days Division
      Executive Secretary of the European Landscape Convention; Responsible for the European Heritage Days; Editor of Futuropa Magazine
    • 2018-2019 – Head of the Environment, Landscape and Major Hazards Division
      Executive Secretary of the European Landscape Convention; Responsible for the Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats; Responsible for the Partial Agreement on Major Hazards
    • 2019-2022 – Landscape and Major Hazards Division
      Executive Secretary of the Council of Europe Landscape Convention; Responsible for the Partial Agreement on Major Hazards
